The much anticipated Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins next week!! This is an amazing way to get some great pieces for your wardrobe and save a lot of money. Each year, I cover this sale but I wanted to make sure you know more about it and how to get the best bang for your buck!
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale all about?
Typically when a store puts items on sale, they are leftovers from the previous season that they need to get rid of. But, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the opposite and they mark down BRAND NEW stuff at the beginning of the season. Many of my personal staples come from this sale.
When is the sale?
- July 12th – Early Access begins for Nordstrom cardholders only. Sign up for a card to shop early and get a $60 bonus note (By July 10th)!
- July 19th – August 4th – Sale opens to everyone
What should I be buying?
Focus on Fall clothing as that is what will be on sale. You’re going to want to stock up on jackets, outerwear, jeans and boots. Also, focus on basics like great seamless undies and high quality bras at a great price!

HOW CAN I SHOP THIS SALE THE SMART WAY?
Make a list. The sale can be overwhelming, so get focused with a game plan and a list. It’ll help you make better purchasing decisions! What holes do you need to fill in your closet? Personally, I’d focus on staples like jeans, blazers, pants for work, and fall shoes.
Shop Early Access. The sale opens 1 week earlier to everyone who has a Nordstrom card. Items and sizes sell out FAST, and they often do NOT restock. Some items are exclusive only to the sale. Shop online. Crowds are crazy. Your size may not be available in store. Some items aren’t even sold in store and are online-only. And, shipping and return shipping is always free, so ordering online from the comfort of your home in your pajamas is the WAY TO GO! Or, order online and use Nordstrom’s curbside pickup. So that you can avoid the crowds but not wait for it to ship!
Buy multiple sizes!!!! Items run out fast, and your size might not be available by the time you want to exchange. Buy two sizes and send back–for free–the size that doesn’t work.
