I just returned from an amazing, inspiring & uplifting trip to Europe. I think like a lot of us growing up I was always drawn to Paris. The language, the fashion, the croissants, the romance & of course the Eiffel Tower.
This was my third trip to the city of love & let me tell you it didn’t disappoint on any level, food, fashion & un petite romance!
My favorite activity besides shopping was my nightly sidewalk cafe people-watching. The men & women in Paris just have that confidence & Je ne sais quio that makes them rock whatever they are wearing. However, I did make note of a few staples I saw over and over again and took notes for you all. The key with these pieces & any amazing outfit is that you feel amazing in them. It is also crucial they all work together as it’s all about a versatile capsule wardrobe. So the fit & tailoring are still key! So without further ado. My favorite French girl staples. Please check back in the next few days to see how I mix & match these pieces to create super stylish outfits.
Little Black Dress – If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times. We all need a Little Black Dress! If your lifestyle is casual try a casual knit number, if you are more dressy a figure-flattering woven is probably better for you. Of all the things I took on my three-week trip to Paris, Mykonos & Portugal my LBD got the most wear. I will share in the upcoming posts how easy it is to change this one up in a variety of outfits. My actual dress,
Faded Straight Leg Jeans- Ladies there were no skinny jeans in Paris. Not unless they were being worn by American tourists LOL. For this piece, you can hit the second-hand shops for a well-loved vintage pair of Levis. If you don’t have the time & patience for that route. Here are some lovely new options Price Point 1, Price Point 2
Boyfriend Blazer– Now the key to this is fit. It needs to be just right, not too big. If you don’t think you can rock this silhouette a more tailored blazer is a lovely less trendy option. Here is a versatile option from J.Crew
Striped Tee– Ou La La what french woman doesn’t have the perfect one of these?
Wide Leg Pants– For this piece, you can select any color that works, I saw these in white, tan, green, and black.
Crossbody– This is the actual bag I took & carried the full week. Hands-free is key when walking around a big city.
Lug Soles– It can be converse, boots, loafers, oxfords, you name it the lug sole is back. Loafer pictured
Everyday Jewelry– I honestly did see a lot of statement pieces. I saw lots of delicates & layering. Pearl Necklace Hoop Earrings, Necklace

Silk Blouse– This can be real silk or “silk-like”. You can select any color that is flattering to you. I’d avoid prints as they are more trendy & will be hard to mix & match.

Flattering Tee– Tee Shirts are obviously a staple in most wardrobes no matter where you live and regardless of your sex! Again make sure the fit & color are flattering. If you want to add a personal touch you can even get this one embroidered with a saying or monogram. I recommend black, white, & a fun color. The red one in the collage
Leather Moto Jacket– I saw this the most of any other item… I wanted to bring mine & wished I had over & over but since my second & third weeks were in warm climates I didn’t bring it. Next time it’s coming with me no matter what. This is another piece that might be fun to thrift. This one in the collage has gold hardware which I think is pretty rad.

Boots with a higher shaft– Black, Brown, Hot Pink… Just select a color you will get the most wear out of.
