Your child has done so much to prepare for the college admission process. The essays, the applications, the tours and now to make sure they are ready for the next step. These classes are the bridge from high school to college.
There’s no foolproof way to prepare for the emotional roller coaster of your children leaving for college, but there are practical skills you can share with them before they fly off on their own. Basic tasks like cooking and laundry may seem like foreign concepts to kids, especially without Mom or Dad’s help. Since no parent wants to see their children struggle with even the simplest tasks, Jennifer Rosson has created interactive sessions for high school seniors offering Getting Ready for College sessions – Life Skills 101.
Experts in the various fields are brought in to teach life skills such as personal finance, nutrition/cooking, laundry, personal safety, basic car care and how to pack for college just to name a few. Students will be taught by experts from companies such as Mission Federal Credit Union, Discount Tire, Play It Safe Defense and many more.
“Your son or daughter is going to learn so much in college – academically and otherwise. That said, there are some skills they should take with them to college so that they are prepared to handle college life. These sessions will help your child with that transition” said, Rosson.
This is open to any high school senior, sessions are geared towards boys and girls.
Please note: This course is first come, first serve. It will fill quickly; your registration will hold your spot.
