“You can never underestimate the importance of a great outfit. Period. Whether you’re dressing for an interview, drinks with your girlfriends or a much-needed day at the beach, it’s important to look your best. As is the case with your everyday wardrobe, different swimsuit styles look better on different body types. Whether you’re shaped like an apple, pear or any other fruit under the tree, you can look amazing at the beach, simply by choosing the right swimsuit.
Pear/Bigger on Bottom
If you’re shaped most like a pear or triangle, you’re probably smaller and narrower in the shoulders, bust and waist areas, and fuller in the hips, butt and thighs. Choose swimsuit styles that will emphasize your top half and minimize your bottom half. Try a triangle or bandeau top that has a bold print and/or textured embellishment paired with a dark, solid-colored scoop bottom. For that extra oomph, look for a push-up or padded swimsuit top.
Apple/Bigger on Top
If you have a very straight, narrow and non-curvy figure, you can be characterized as having a rectangle or non-curvy figure. Your best swimsuit styles are those that will help create the illusion of curves. Sweetheart or twist bandeaus paired with hipster bottoms will help create a curvy look. Similarly, monokinis with side cutouts will also help create the illusion of curves. If you have a long torso, bustier-inspired crop tops will also look fabulous on you!
Hourglass
If you’re blessed with an hourglass figure, you generally have a small waist and your top half is proportionate to your bottom half. Look for swimsuit styles that don’t add or detract from those gorgeous curves! For example, if you’re busty and hippy, choose halter tops paired with matching scoop bottoms. Avoid bottoms that are too thin or too thick on the sides so you don’t take away from your hourglass shape.
Curvy/Full
If you’re a curvy gal, always look for swimsuit styles that play up your best assets and minimize any areas that you don’t love. For example, if you want to show off your bust area, look for two-pieces or one-pieces that accentuate your top half; think high-waist two-pieces or one-piece swimsuit styles with sexy plunging necklines. If you want to minimize your hips or thighs, look for a swimsuit with a skirted bottom or cover up with a cute sarong!
Remember–ALL WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL, regardless of your shape. Choose swimsuit styles that will flatter your body type and strut your stuff with confidence!
