I am honored to have been asked to do a special blog posting for all of you lovely followers here at StyleYourLife!! Jennifer asked me to give my opinion on a subject near and dear to my makeup artist heart…a list of a woman’s must have beauty essentials for everyday! So I’m going to clue you all in on my secret products I use to make my clients (and well, myself too!) a more beautiful version of their natural self this holiday season. Shhhhh, these products are top secret!!!
So without further ado, here are my current makeup and skin care faves on the market!
Eyes:
For mascara, I am loving L’Oreal Voluminous False Lashes mascara because the shape of the wand has a skinny tip for those hard to reach corner lashes. I recommend everyone use black for the most drama unless you have super light lash hairs that can only handle brown black.
My go-to eye shadow palette for all eye colors, is Too Faced Cosmetics Natural Eye collection. With 9 shades in all, 3 matte and 6 shimmer, there is something for everyone. It even comes with cheat sheet cards for application how-to for the most amateur makeup lady!
Skin:
Every flawless face must begin with a good skin care regime. For a budget friendly wrinkle fighter that actually works (and who doesn’t want to fight wrinkles as early as possible?), I recommend using Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair night moisturizer.
And once you’ve moisturized those pesky fine lines and wrinkles, fill them in with my favorite skin primer, Smashbox Photo Finish. Remember, primer goes on after moisturizer, but before foundation and powder.
Don’t forget your concealer to hide those pesky dark circles under the eyes- Maybellline Super Stay 24 hr Concealer is a great product that stays put and makes you more bright eyed in an instant! My best tip- apply AFTER your foundation for extra staying power and performance and don’t forget the sides of your nose to hide any reddness.
Cheeks:
Bright happy cheek color makes every face look a bit more energetic and youthful. The cult classic blush shade, “Orgasm” by Nars, fits practically every skin tone. It has the perfect amount of shimmer in it that you can skip a highlighting product all together.
Lips:
A long lasting lip gloss is the perfect finale to any face. My two current favorites out there are luckily budget friendly, and come from Rimmel London Stay Glossy 6 hr lip gloss and L’Oreal Infallible 6 hr lip gloss. A pink or coral based shade is most flattering- stay away from brown based glosses as they tend to be very aging.
Tools:
I apply my own foundation the old school way, with a sponge applicator!! The BeautyBlender Sponge is a must have and is shaped to perfection to get along the sides of the nose and eye area with the greatest of ease.
Eco Tools are some of the best makeup brushes around that won’t break the piggy bank. I do not recommend ever using the cheapy applicators that come with makeup. Good brushes are key to good application which = a good looking face!!
What a great time of year it is to give OR get some of the following products as a neat gift or stocking stuffer, or just because you deserve a new beauty product! And even though these are my secret tips, it is the season for giving, so feel free to share this info with any other important females in your life!!
Thanks so much for having me over here at StyleYourLife, it was a pleasure!!
