Hi Jennifer,
I am so excited to be your Facebook Fan of the week. I love your blog and am thrilled to be able to ask you a question, I have purchased a few items that you put together with outfits and just love them; you have a great fashion sense. Here is my question (and a little background), I had a baby 4 months ago and still have not lost all of my baby weight, unfortunately. Because of this, I find myself always wearing “comfy” pants and some sort of t-shirt. Nothing cute at all. I am having a hard time with those transition pieces. Something that will cover my belly and make me look a little slimmer. I am short, about 5’3 with larger thighs and at one time a smaller waist. I don’t want to spend a ton of money on these pieces as I am only hoping to wear them for a couple of months. Oh, and maybe some cute shoes too…I feel like mine are so out of style!
Thanks so much…I am so excited!
Alison
Alison,
You have several options for comfort and style as a new mom.
1. legging with tunics and a boyfriend cardigan belted loosely at the waist
2. dresses with tights or leggings
3. knit tops with ruffles through the mid-drift
For transitional pieces shop at the budget stores like H&M, Charlotte Russe, F21 and Old Navy and Target.
For shoes I recommend:
1. boots, avoid boots with a clunky chunky heels for your size
2. ballet flats, there are SOO many options of these right now!!
3. dressy sandals
4. TOM’s
5. clogs
Thanks for reading!!
xoxo
