Another Mother’s Day Set a little more Preppy
Today’s Question
So we had some awesome answers for reality shows, one I never even heard of though.
Jesse what is River Monsters? I thought I knew every television program, but I guess not!

Today’s question for the Stella and Dot $30 gift certificate:
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

So for me it isn’t a real place as far as I know…
I’d live in a big old farmhouse with a huge porch and a little land so we could have a few animals. 
Some chickens? three dogs and maybe a pig? Not sure about the farm animals, but I think the idea is romantic no?
But this farm house would be on the beach and very near a major metropolitan area with lots of shopping.But in a small town, where I could walk everywhere, like the little coffee shop and post office.
And the land wouldn’t be so much that I wouldn’t have neighbors.
I love neighbors and living in a neighborhood.  Oh and a tree lined street.
The lots needs to have lots of big old trees one with a tree swing.

It sounds a lot like a place I used to live minus the beach… Chelsea Michigan.
If you live in Michigan go to The Common Grill have have some rolls for me!
I miss my little old stomping grounds.

  1. I would love to raise my family in the Pacific Northwest or Northern California on some land. But having them grow up around family & life long friends is more important to me so here we'll stay. Your farmhouse sounds fab though!!!

  3. If I could live anywhere, I would live where I live (San Clemente, CA) but right on the beach vs a little inland. Perfect little beach town. I might take Del Mar or Encinitas too!

    As for River Monsters, I'm not sure it is technically a reality show, but it is a guy who goes around different parts of the world and investigates different fish myths. One of my faves is when he went to Australia to prove or disprove if sharks were living in fresh water. It's aired on Animal Planet. I'm a dork, I know! =)

  5. I think I would want to live where there is a large house that is breezy and comfortable – no humidity, no mosquitos, and my in laws living 45 minutes away, and my parents living 30 minutes away.

    Close to a big city for culture and baseball games, and yet safe enough the kids could play next door and you don't have to worry about locking your doors at night.

    Pretty sure that doesn't exist, but your farmhouse was such a good dream.

  6. Oh you should live in Austraila then. I think I would pick Upstate NY. I could go to Manhattan for the weekend (I've never been) and still enjoy the country.

  8. we live in grosse pointe michigan…i think all the time i would want to live somewhere else but i love it here….but if i could i would love one of the big houseson lakeshore drive and then i could have my whole family living with me….parents…sibs…nieces and all…..i am a family person and we are really close!

  10. I might be your neighbor on that land…I'd love to live near the beach, but then I fear I'd take it for granted. Kinda like the mountains that surround us here, I don't enjoy them nearly as much as I should.

    I'd love to love in the same city, just a bit closer to the beach with an extra room for a playroom. While I'm dreaming, a nice pool wouldn't be bad touch either.

  12. I would love to live on an island in the carribean or in Paris. I love the beachy life but I also love everything French so maybe St. Barth's!

  13. Chelsea is adorable and we love to stop in and eat at The Common Grill when we are passing by. Usually on the way home from a trip to Indiana. I think my dream home would be a white farmhouse in the country – but like you – not too far from an adorable town. Actually I'd like to be able to walk to town. I'd also like a barn on my property and while I'm at it a lake too!

  14. I like the sound of your farmhouse…but if I could live anywhere it would be St. John in the USVI. We honeymooned there and it was heaven 🙂

  16. I have two: Australia(except I haven't figured out a way to avoid all the scary, poisonous creatures) and the small town in Southern Illinois where my grandparents used to live. I love it there!

    I too love the sound of your dream home – it sounds perfect! I would want it to be in Colorado though, I love living here. I guess that means that it would be in the mountains but near a lake. I also love having our family near by so it would only be ideal for me if our parents and siblings were within a few hours drive or closer.

  18. I would love to live in California… where the weather is usually nice, the food is great, and that's where most of my family lives. The only thing that is deterring us is traffic and cost of living… =( Ohh I am from Ann Arbor, MI so it was soo great to see Michigan up on your blog hehe! I've never been to Chelsea though, but it sounds just lovely!
